By accessing or using the AFE Leaks service (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the Service after any changes indicate your acceptance of the new Terms.

3. Description of the Service

AFE Leaks provides an interactive platform for oil and gas well cost benchmarking, production data analysis, and independent research. The Service includes:

  • Well Cost Benchmarking – Compare AFE and actual well costs across operators, drilling programs, and cost subcomponents.

  • Single Well Analysis – View production data, well tests, links to source filings, and forecasting tools for over 80,000 wells with full or AFE-reported costs.

  • Custom Data Access – Users can explore, visualize, and interact with well and cost data, with premium features for deeper analysis.

  • Secure Cloud Hosting – The Service is hosted via Firebase and Cloud Run and is available at

4. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must register and create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep this information updated. You are responsible for safeguarding your password.

5. User Responsibilities & Data Restrictions

You agree not to misuse the Service or assist any third party in doing so. Prohibited uses include, but are not limited to:

  • Violating any local, state, national, or international law.

  • Transmitting viruses, malware, or any other destructive code.

  • Attempting unauthorized access to our systems or the Service.

  • Bulk downloading or scraping data for redistribution, resale, or mass replication without permission.

  • Signing up for a subscription, downloading all available data, and immediately canceling to circumvent ongoing fees.

We reserve the right to monitor usage patterns and restrict access for accounts violating these terms.

6. Fees, Payments, and Refund Policy

Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription. By using a paid feature, you agree to pay the applicable fees.

  • Subscription Model – Premium features require an active subscription.

  • Refunds – Unless otherwise specified, all payments are non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact bd@afeleaks.com within 7 days of the transaction.

  • Pricing Changes – We reserve the right to change pricing or introduce new charges with prior notice.

7. Cancellation and Termination

  • User-Initiated Cancellation – You may cancel your account at any time. Access to premium content will be revoked at the end of your billing cycle.

  • Service Suspension – We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, misuse data, or engage in fraudulent activity.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Service, including text, graphics, data, and software, is owned by or licensed to AFE Leaks Research and Consulting LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9. Privacy Policy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AFE Leaks Research and Consulting, LLC and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

12. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising out of these Terms or the use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Texas, as per the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

13. Third-Party Services & Social Media Sharing

  • The Service may integrate with Google Analytics, Google Ads, and other advertising/tracking technologies.

  • If you share content from AFE Leaks on social media (e.g., Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Facebook), the platform’s terms will also apply.
